Soft Sculpture with interactive audio | Lycra mesh, wadding, found furniture, audio

This multimedia sculptural piece consists of soft sculptures on found objects and an audience-activated audio recording. The viewer is invited to sit on the chair and pick up the telephone when it rings every 5 minutes.

Drawing from the complexities surrounding the theme of maternal kin, the work explores themes of migration, motherhood, womanhood, affection, and punishment. Through the handset, viewers hear a combination of monologue, lullabies, and sounds of physical aggression as the tracks frequently interrupt one another.
